The Group
We have no way of knowing how many people read the trip description, but fourteen of us were hooked enough to make the decision to apply. Joined by the trip leader, her husband, four terrific driver-guides, and assorted other staff members, we became a temporary family. We came from diverse locations, backgrounds, lifestyles, and occupations, and we probably all had different expectations about the African safari we were embarking on. We all got along very well in spite of our different backgrounds and perspectives, and we had an unforgettable journey through a truly beautiful country.
What follows here are some excerpts from the original trip description (in black ink), accompanied by our very personal record in diary form (brown ink), drawings and photos, of the daily experiences of Tanzania, Africa.
"It is important to accept Tanzania on its own terms, with a sense of adventure and good humor. The excitement and the wonders that we will enjoy will more than compensate for the inconveniences, if one has the right attitude."
